Terming the continuous imprisonment of Handwara Girl, not arresting the forces personnel involved in the murder of five innocent youths in Handwara, unjust suspension of five government employees and not allowing the funeral prayers of the late pro-freedom leader Amanullah Khan as “worst kind of state terrorism”, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference (g) Syed Ali Geelani Thursday appealed for peaceful protest demonstration against after Friday congregational prayers on 29th April.

He said, “new chapter of the PDP-BJP government had unleashed a reign of terror and hardships in the state and the army and police has been given a free hand.”

In a statement to KNS, Hurriyat Conference (g) Chairperson said, “the government forces had snatched the 5 precious human lives in the Handwara massacre and it remains unattended till date.”

“The government announced an enquiry commission in an old traditional way but no serious efforts were made in this regard,” he said. “Immediately after the murder of 5 people, the authorities removed the forces bunker from the Handwara Chowk on which the pro-Indian politicians held celebrations as if the murdered ones had got their blood money and they also tried to take its credit.”

Geelani said, “it is the devious politics and these types of politicians have nothing to do with the life and death of the common masses.”

He also expressed his sorrow over the intellect of those people who vote or support these politicians.

“Until our nation will learn from its mistakes and remove its weaknesses and they will learn to differentiate between right and wrong, our path to freedom will get lengthened,” he added.

Geelani raised question over the continuous detention of the Handwara Girl and said that the unnecessary custody of the affected Girl put a big question mark over the authenticity of the video clip which was recorded in the police station and which was aimed to divert the attention of the people from the innocent killings. “Now the truth is slowly coming to fore that the police under a well thought out plan had tried to mislead the people and are still covering the truth.”
