Twenty three Kashmiri students, who studied at CM’s Super 50 Coaching Institutes, have qualified (Joint Entrance Examination) JEE 2016. JEE results were declared on Thursday.
CM’s Super 50 Coaching was initiated by last government headed by late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and the pilot project started from Hyderpora High School.
The students were selected across Kashmir last year and they were taught in Board of School Education (BOSE) run coaching institutions from December 1, 2015 to last week of March 2016.
“The aim of the program was to help students compete at national level,” an official from BOSE said.
After qualifying the JEE, the students will be given admissions in IITs and NIT’s across India.
The topper among CM’s Super 50 students selected through JEE is Rukhsana Rashid.
Hailing from Baharabad Hajin, Rukhsana’s father is a fruit merchant. Her family credited the success of their daughter to the opening of the BOSE run coaching centres. “It was impossible for a family like ours to realise Rukhsana’s dream,” her brother said.
Another student, Aadil Hassan of Banihal, who figured second in the list said, “in the less stipulated time teachers at CM’s Super 50 put best efforts. It was possible for us to clear our concepts, besides completion of syllabus.” Son of a shopkeeper, Adil has made his entire district proud.
Third in the list is Mushtaq Hussain of Khan sahib Budgam. Visibly enthusiastic, Mushtaq said, “viable inputs from teachers and mock tests conducted in the coaching camp were highly beneficial.”
The BOSE officials said that only few students had participated in engineering entrance. “Students with Mathematics appeared in this exam and other students with Biology would be competing for medical entrances,” said a board official.
