Member Parliament and senior PDP leader, Tariq Hamid Karra, Thursday reviewed the arrangements for the smooth conduct of annual Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Dawood Sahib (RA) popularly known as Batamoul Sahib.
Karra visited the shrine along with the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Lone, and interacted with Intizamia Committee of the shrine and members of civil society. Officers of SMC, PDD, PHE, Police, Health, ZA&PD, Fire and Emergency Service departments accompanied the MP, an official spokesperson said this evening.
The officials informed the MP that all requisite arrangements have been put in place for the convenience of devotees who are expected to visit the shrine from Friday.
On the occasion Karra directed the authorities to provide drinking water supply, uninterrupted power supply, ration, LPG cylinders, medicare facilities, besides ensuring of cleanliness and transport facilities on the Urs days.
The Municipal authorities were asked to ensure sanitation in and around the shrine and installation of street lights in all the approach roads to the Shrine. An ambulance will also be stationed permanently at the Shrine on the eve of the Urs.
The Intizamia Committee appealed the Member of Parliament to expedite the renovation work of the shrine.
