Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairwoman Asiya Andrabi was Tuesday detained by police around midnight to prevent her from visiting Handwara, the party spokeswoman said.
The spokeswoman said that she was initially placed under house arrest. However, later, she was arrested and taken to Rambagh police station along with Fehmeeda. “Andrabi was scheduled to reach Handwara today and take part in a programme organized over the recent killings of five civilians in police and army action.”
