Stressing upon human rights organisations to play their role in releasing Muslim League incarcerated chairperson, Masarat Alam Bhat, and all other separatist prisoners, Muslim League Wednesday said that prisoners are facing tough times in and outside state jails.

Muslim League, acting Chairperson Mohammad Yousuf Mir said in a statement to KNS, that human rights organisations must take a strong note of not releasing separatist prisoners on eve of Eid-ul-Azha.

He said that this will be twelfth continuous Eid when Muslim League Chairperson, Masarat Alam will miss his nears and dears on Eid. “Same is the case with other prisoners including Dr Mohammad Qasim, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Mohammad Shafi Shariati, Mohammad Ayoub Mir, Tariq Ahmad Dar, Rafiq Ahmad Shah who are languishing in different state and Indian jails,” he said.

Mohammad Yousuf Mir also said that Muslim league leaders Javed Ahmad Najar and Zahore Ahmad Kanna are also languishing in jails while as other hundreds of youth have been detained in different police station in nook and corner of the valley like Muslim League district president Bandipora, Assadullah Parray and Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Syedah Asiya Andrabi.

Mohammad Yousuf Mir said, “our pro-freedom prisoners are scripting a new history of steadfastness so people must pray for their honourable release on eve of Eid-ul-Azha.”

He strongly condemned the suspension of passport of the Hurriyat Conference (g) chairperson Syed Ali Geelani. “Such tactics cannot deter the resistance leadership from raising its voice in favour of complete freedom from Indian slavery.”

Mir appealed the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to move beyond passing resolutions about Kashmir and “take concrete steps to liberate their brethren from the clutches of slavery”.

Meanwhile, Muslim League has paid tributes to slain Muzamil who was killed in Kawni Pulwama.
