A baby died while sixteen others were injured in different road accidents across the valley Wednesday, police said.
“In Pulwama, a vehicle bearing registration number JK13 C-7995 driven by Tariq Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Ismail resident of Frasipora hit a baby Zainab daughter of Waseem Ahmad Najar resident of Gadoora at Gadoora, resulting in her on spot death. Pulwama police has arrested the driver and registered a case against him,” police spokesperson said in a statement.
In another incident, the spokesperson said, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK13B-5996 collided with another motorcycle bearing registration number JK04B-7454 near railway station Kakapora, Pulwama resulting in injuries to three persons including a lady. All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
“In Anantnag, a Sumo bearing registration number JK02AN-9582 turned turtle near Daksum in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kokernag, resulting in injuries to eleven passengers. All the injured were shifted to PHC Larnoo for treatment,” the spokesperson said.
In Budgam, the spokesperson said, a motorcyclist Gony Singh resident of Khanpora Sarie was hit and injured by an unknown vehicle at Dooniwari Chadoora Crossing, Chadoora. The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for treatment.
“In Handwara, a Maruti car bearing registration number JK09-0810 driven by Abdul Majid Khawaja resident of Bohipora, Kupwara hit and injured a minor boy Nazim Nabi Wani resident of Gutingoo near Gutingoo crossing in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vilgam. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Kupwara for treatment, wherefrom he was referred to Srinagar for further treatment. Handwara police has registered a case in this regard,” the spokesperson said.
