Maisuma residents Wednesday staged protest on Budshah Bridge against the unavailability of ration in their depots.
To press for their demands, several women blocked the road triggering traffic jam in the area.
“Since several months now,” says a protesting woman, “we are without ration.”
Raising slogans against the authorities, the residents threatened to intensify protests if their demand wasn’t immediately heeded upon.
Fearing spillover, a posse of police party arrived on the spot, but even then the residents couldn’t disperse. It was only after a official concerned arrived on the spot vowing to address the grievances on war-footing that the residents dispersed peacefully.
