Two days ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, an amount more than Rs 72 Crore were withdrawn from J&K Bank’s Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
A senior bank official informed KNS that amount of more than Rs 72 Crore were withdrawn from around 900 J&K bank ATMs through 1, 72000 transactions Wednesday across the state.
While as he said total amount of Rs 76 Crore were withdrawn from around 1000 J&K Bank ATMs through 1.75000 transactions across India on the day.
He said that Rs 57. 18 Crore were withdrawn from J&K Banks ATMs through more than 1, 22000 transactions across Kashmir. While as cash more than Rs 14 Crore were withdrawn through 44,000 transactions in Jammu region.
In Ladakh region of the state, he said that amount of Rs 1. 18 Crore were withdrawn from ATMs through 3200 transactions.
He said that officials have been impressed to keep money available at every bank ATM across the state for the hassle- free transactions to the consumers.
“We expect the cash withdrawal on Arfa (A day before Eid, Thursday) may cross today’s limit. All ATMs will be functional and money will be available at each of them on Thursday so that people may not face any inconveniences,” he added.
