HAKIM-YASIN-.-(2)While terming the PDP-led government’s decision to get back the mortal remains of Kashmir’s last independent ruler Yusuf Shah Chak as good step, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and Awami Mutihada Mahaz (AMM) leader Hakim Mohammad Yasin Monday asked the coalition government what was their policy on getting back mortal remains of Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru

“It is a good step if the PDP government has decided to bring back the mortal remains of Chak who was the ruler of the state more than 400 years back. But what about mortal remains of Bhat and Guru who were hanged just 31 and two years back respectively?” Yasin said in a statement. “Will the PDP-government also bring back the mortal remains of Bhat and Guru for which they have several times made hue and cry within and outside the Assembly?”

The PDF chief also asked the PDP government to make its policy clear – what its stand was on independent Kashmir. “During the era of Yusuf Shah Chak whole Jammu and Kashmir was an independent country. Only bringing back the mortal remains of Chak isn’t enough. Is PDP serious enough to restore the position of Jammu and Kashmir to Chak era?” Hakim Yasin asked.
