As the issue of beef ban is snowballing into a major controversy, Government Tuesday terminated from services two law officers for failing to defend the interests of the state in the court of law.
Official sources told KNS that Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Syed Basharat Bukhari today ordered that services of Vishal Sharma, additional advocate general and Parimoksh Seth, deputy advocate general be terminated with immediate effect. Both have been held guilty of not defending interests of the state in the court of law, sources added.
Seth has filed a petition in Jammu wing of High Court against the sale and consumption of beef in the state. The court ruled in his favour and ordered complete ban on sale and consumption of beef. Sharma, who was representing Home department in the court at the time of court ruling on beef, has been found guilty of not defending the government position in the court.
