A youth hailing from remote Kupwara district has qualified the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) examinations the results of which were announced last week.
Javid-ur- Rehman Hajam of Paddergund village of Vilgam, Kupwara, qualified the KAS examinations in his first attempt by securing 1205 points. Javid, who is currently doing MVSc. in Livestock Production & Management in north India’s Uttar Pradesh state, has also completed his degree in BVSc. & AH. He comes from a middle class family. His father, Abdul Rehman Hajam, was a mason by profession. He was crippled in a mishap around twenty years ago.
“Allah has been very merciful to me. After Allah, my family, teachers, friends & well wishers have been the biggest strength for me. It was due to their prayers and guidance that I qualified for BVSc. and now KAS,” a jubilant Javid said.
Javid, who received the news in UP, said that he always wanted to serve his people and that by qualifying KAS his long cherished dream has come true. He said that hard work and determination were vital factors to make difficult things possible.
“It’s not only prayers that help. You have to work hard to make your dream come true,” he added. (GNS)
