The Handicrafts Exports have registered Rs. 213 crore during the first quarter of the current financial year, an official statement said on Monday.
The information was given in a review meeting of the Handicrafts Department, which was chaired by Director Handicrafts Mr. Tariq Ahmed Ganai. It was attended by senior officers of the department.
“As many as 9601 Loan Cases of artisans have been sponsored to the Financial Institutions for release of financial assistance under Artisan Credit Card Scheme (ACC) during the first quarter of the current financial year and instructions have been passed to the concerned to clear all the pending cases, the meeting was told,” the statement said.
It was given out in the meeting that an amount of Rs. 2.50 crore has been released in the form of interest subsidy in favour of various artisans under ACC and 9037 artisans have been registered so far. Similarly, sales worth Rs. 4.91 crore has been done by various societies registered with this department and the industrial cooperative wing of the department has produced goods worth Rs. 5.73 crore during the first quarter of the current financial year.
The meeting was also told that goods worth Rs. 1.32 crore have been sold at various exhibitions conducted by the department at various places in the Kashmir division. Similarly, Rs. 1.15 lakh has been realized in the form of fine from erring traders by quality control wing of the department during first quarter of the current financial year, the statement said.
