Army man killed at LoC in Tangdhar Sector

An Army man was killed in cross-border firing as an infiltration attempt was foiled along the Line of Control in Tangdhar sector in North Kashmir, reports said on Wednesday.


The reports quoting sources said, “Army noticed movement of a large group of militants in the area. The armed militants were entering this side of the fence and were stopped after Indian army opened fire.”


”One trooper from 18th Grenadiers of Indian army regiment died in the firing and three others are injured. The firing is going on,” reports said.


Army has been put on high alert along the LoC in the Valley following intelligence inputs about presence of large number of militants at the launching pads across the LoC.


“As the army realised it was a group of militants who were trying to sneak into the Indian side, they fired at the intruders,” top army officials was quoted in the report.
