Ramzan Day 1: Curfew being imposed in most of Srinagar

Authorities have decided to impose curfew in most of Srinagar city, a top official said.

Unlike the traditional “five police sttaion” of Srinagar – that make most of the main Srinagar city, authorities have added three uptown police sttaions in the curfew bound areas. These are areas falling under the polic stations of Kral Khud, Batamaloo and Maisuma.

Authorities said they will not permit any movemnet in the curfew bound belts. This, they said, is aimed at prevented the escalation of tensions in Kashmir.

 “These are not restrictions,” one officer said. “It is curfew.”
