“We express solidarity with the bereaved families and also condemn this incident of violence that has resulted in the loss of seven precious lives including five policemen, which includes an Assistant Sub-Inspector, and two private guards. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. This is an extremely tragic and condemnable incident”, NC State Spokesperson Junaid Mattu said in a statement issued from Srinagar.

The NC State Spokesperson also expressed grief and anguish over the incident of LoC violation and the killing and mutilation of two Jawans in the Krishna Ghati Sector. Condemning the incident in the strongest of terms, NC State Spokesperson said the party stands in solidarity with the families of the Jawans and also extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

“The sanctity of the LoC should be upheld at all costs and the brazen violation of the Geneva Convention in such cases is unfortunate, barbaric and unacceptable. Soldiers on either side serve their countries with honor and deserve utmost respect and dignity in life and death. The Geneva Convention should be respected without any riders or pre-conditions. This is a barbaric and shameful incident”, the NC Spokesperson said.
