Fraudster held in Budgam: Police

Police has arrested a notorious fraudster involved in a number of cases for duping the people in Budgam District.

Ghulam Qadir Bhat son of Habib Ullah Bhat a resident of  Raithan, Khansahib,  Budgam who reportedly was involved in number  of cases of duping people on the pretext of buying their less valued orchids for a huge amount, but later skipping with the product without paying them anything but a small amount paid in advance.

A number of arrest warrants were also issued against the accused by Court of Munsif Budgam, however he evaded arrest.

On 13-5-2017 a police official went to Raithan Khansahib to execute warrant but the said person misbehaved with him. On this SHO Police station Khansahib along with police party reached to his home, the accused alongwith his relatives and neighbours attacked the police party and did not allow them to perform their official duty. After the incident he was on run.

In this regard FIR No 33/2017 U/S 147, 148, 336, 353 RPC was registered in P/S Khan Sahib and manhunt was launched to nab him.

The Police party traced his location and subsequently arrested him from Jammu last evening. Further investigation into the matter is going on.
