While reacting to internet shutdown in valley, senior CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Thursday said that the move would seriously affect the economy of the state and careers of youth.
“Banning internet in an era when most of the economy and careers of youth depend on such means of communication reveals the sheer frustration of the government,” Tarigami said. This will not only inflicted losses to business community, but also badly hit the student’s careers.
He said the ban on internet has caused much inconvenience to common people. “People whose livelihood is associated with the smooth functioning of internet are suffering most,” he said.
While stating that such a move would prove counterproductive, he urged upon the government to lift ban on internet services in the valley forthwith.
