Srinagar: Senior Hurriyat leader and Jammu Kashmir National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan was arrested on Sunday at Kralepora Kupwara.
According to his spokesman, Khan was on way to Panzgam to pay homage to Mohammad Yousuf Bhat who was killed by government forces on Thursday.
Khan, spokesman said was heading a party delegation when a large contingent of police stopped and arrested him in north Kashmir.
Condemning the arrest of chairman, Nayeem Khan, a party spokesperson said that such acts are not only undemocratic but have exposed the so called state rulers.
The spokesperson said that all the political space has been choked and the state has come out with its full forces against the genuine political leadership of Kashmiri people.
