Police and CRPF foiled Awami Itihad party’s march against killing of a civilian at Panzgam by Army after the encounter.
Spokesperson of party in a statement said that, despite strict restrictions, hundreds of protestors led by Er. Rasheed started marching from Deputy Commissioner Kupwara’s Office and started chanting anti-army slogans and demanded arrest of the army major responsible for killing of Mohammad Yousuf.
“However a heavy contingent of Police and CRPF stopped the protestors near main market Kupwara,” spokesperson said adding that , “police used force to foil the march and arrested Er. Rasheed along with few protestors and lodged them in Police Station Kupwara.”
Speaking to media persons before his arrest Rasheed said, as per statement, that “Army is after blood of Kashmiris as National Media, police makers in New Delhi and other agencies have no other task than provoking army and other agencies to kill Kashmiris.”
“In broad day light and in presence of police and media persons an Army major ordered to fire bullet on head to the deceased Mohammad Yousuf and then shamelessly army Jawans celebrated his murder,” he said. “Police could do nothing to save a precious life and the army infact abused shamelessly even the senior superintendent of police present there”.
