The state government on Wednesday issued an order to ban all social media in Kashmir for a period of one month.
They said that an order to this effect was issued to all the Internet Service Providers.
They said that Social Media which has been banned for a month include Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, QQ, WeChat, Ozone, Tumblr, Google+, Baidu, Skype, Viber, Line, Snapchat, Pinterest, Telegram and Reditt.
Earlier, the government issued an order to ban internet services in Kashmir however, it was not clear whether the ban was to be imposed on mobile internet only which is already suspended in Kashmir.
In the order, the government has also said that the continued misuse of social networking sites and instant messaging services are likely to be detrimental to the interests of peace and tranquility in the state.
