DHSK starts second round of Pulse Polio; 10.95 Lakh children will be administered OPV

Srinagar: Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Saleem ur Rehman Sunday inaugurated second round of Pulse Polio (NID) 2017 at JLNM Hospital, Rainawari, Srinagar. Around 10.95 lac children in the age group of 0 to 5yrs will be administered Bivalent Oral Polio Vaccine drops across Kashmir Division.

According to the spokesman, Dr. Saleem while speaking on the occasion said that all the children of the age group 0 to 5 years will be administered OPV drops across Kashmir Division which even covers the remotest and far flung areas.

He stressed the need to have mass coverage of pulse polio so that not even a single child is left.

The data suggests that In Kashmir division around 5770 booths have been set up, 1150 Supervisors and 23000 Health Workers have been assigned the task. Anganwari workers from Social Welfare Department are also working in close coordination with Health & Family Welfare Department for pulse polio programme. Booth day activity shall be followed by two days house to house activity for the left over children in the said age group. Transit points at bus stands, railway stations have also been set up.

On this occasion the Director was accompanied by Dr. Yangchan Dolma SEPIO J&K, CMO Srinagar Dr Bashir Malik and other Officers and Officials of the Health and Family Welfare Department.
