DeM slams police for barging into Aasiyeh’s residence at midnight

Srinagar

General Secretary of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Nahida Nasreen, on Thursday flayed police for barging into Soura residence of party chairperson, Aasiyeh Andrabi, like burglars and then arresting her along with personal secretary, Sofi Fehmeeda.

“At around 11:30 PM on Wednesday, a large contingent of police led by SHO Soura and SOG zakura barged inside the residence of Baaji Sahiba throw the surrounding walls like burglars. This shameless police, who have sold their conscience to India, slammed the doors and broke windowpanes of the house before arresting the party chairperson and her personal secretary,” DeM Spokesperson said in a statement.

She termed the police action as an extreme form of shamelessness and cowardice. “ How dare the police forcefully barged inside house of a respected woman leader. How could they enter into a house, in the din of night, where only women reside and frighten them before taking them into illegal custody,” spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added that the JKP personnel have possibly forgotten that they too are from Kashmir. “After the end of Indian occupation, these policemen will have to live in Kashmir and still they aren’t bothered by this and continue to kill, maim, arrest and torture people and leaders of Kashmir,” it added.

“Actually, it is frustration and I believe this is the last phase of Indian occupation,” spokesperson said.
