A young couple married on April 23, had a different start to their new life. Living in picturesque place of Bhaderwah, the couple did not sway with the festivities around and on next day of their marriage started plantation drive in the local school.
Yasir Hussain Sheikh, 28 tied nuptial know with Daizy Sheikh, 28 on Sunday. Working as principal in local primary school, Yasir along with his bride left home Monday morning and started planting trees in the Bhaderwah valley Pulbic School.
It was a pleasant surprise for staff and students of the school to see the couple. Yasir wearing grey suit and Daizy in pink bridal dress with mehandi clad hands and ornaments planted the saplings.
A jubilant Yasir told Kashmir Life that that his wife shares same concern “save environment.
“When we interacted for the first time, there was one thing common that we both wanted to save our environment and plant more and more trees,” Yasir, a postgraduate from Jammu University told Kashmir Life.
“This likeness bonded our relationship further,” he said.
Dazy has completed her post graduation and is currently pursuing Master in Political Science.
Earlier, Yasir says he used to travel to different villages of Bhaderwah valley and would start plantation drive.
Resident of Halyan village, around a kilometer from the main town, Yasir says he would continue doing same and would celebrate his marriage ceremony by planting trees.
Contended to have a partner who has urge to dave environment and does not believe in materialistic things, Yasir said “Daizy is a part of my dream.”
Aiming to continue with his environmental friendly initiative, Yasir said “we want to teach children in our school to save environment that is most precious work in this world,” he says with a smile adding that, “this is just a start.”
