Seven SMC Congress Corporators Merge With DPAP

SRINAGAR: In a significant political development, seven corporators from the Srinagar Municipal Corporation, all belonging to the Congress party, have joined forces with the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) in Srinagar.

The merger took place under the leadership of Shafat Gaffar and in the presence of DPAP Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday.

The newly-merged councilors expressed their commitment to advancing the party’s agenda and voiced their confidence that DPAP can offer effective solutions in the midst of the existing chaos.

Shafat Gaffar, one of the Congress corporators who joined DPAP, emphasised their trust in Ghulam Nabi Azad’s leadership. “We have resolved to repose our faith and trust in Ghulam Nabi Azad, who, as a chief minister in the past, has proven his capacity for serving people with integrity and honesty,” stated Gaffar.

The councilors argued that Jammu and Kashmir urgently requires dynamic leadership, and Ghulam Nabi Azad is the perfect choice for this role. They pledged to work tirelessly to attract more people to their party, citing DPAP’s vision and agenda as the key factors that can better serve the people of the region.

Chairman of DPAP, Ghulam Nabi Azad, addressed the gathering and assured them of his unwavering commitment to his people. He promised to lead efforts aimed at equitable and inclusive development in the Union Territory.

This merger has added considerable momentum to DPAP’s efforts to establish a prominent political presence in Srinagar and the wider region.
