SRINAGAR: Imam e Ziyarat Makhdoom Sahib, Peezada Haji Ali Muhammad Makhdoomi passed away on Monday afternoon at 12:30PM in Srinagar.
The funeral prayer (Namaz e Janaza) is scheduled after Namaz i Asr, at 5:45 pm today.
Makhdoom Sahib Shrine at Srinagar is located at the foothills of Hari Parbat. The shrine rests below a magnificent Mughal fort that’s spread out on the hill. This fort gives a magnificent top view of Makhdoom Sahib Shrine and falls on the southern side of the hill.
This shrine is named after Hazrat Sultan, who belonged to Syed dynasty. He hailed from Tujar Sharief which lies in Kashmir. He inherited land lordship from the family but was a scholar and a mystic Sufi Muslim Saint. ‘Makhdoom’ denotes a person who dedicates his life to Islam and Quran.
