Independent lawmaker Er. Rasheed while felicitating Tajamul Islam, ten- year-old world champion in boxing, has said that Kashmiris have proved against all odds their talent and worth.

While speaking at a function at Solace International school Pulwama Saturday, Er. Rasheed according to statement said that “despite the fact that the political conflict has snatched most of the joys from people of Kashmir, they have still proved that they can complete any nation or any society with their skill and talent.”

“The little Tajamul has added to the list of those who have made Kashmiris proud across the globe. Kashmiris have a reason to feel honored and proud when people like Basharat Peer have made it to the world’s most prestigious organization ‘The New York Times’. The facts and figures will reveal that Kashmiri doctors, business men Engineers and scientists have contributed not less than what other nations have done in various fields across globe”,” he added.

However Rashid further said that “the turmoil has snatched people like Nadeem of Handwara, who were seen as budding Sachin Tendulkar, Newton from Tral, Er. Rayees from Kakapora Pulwama and hundreds like them who were sure to create history in their respective fields.”

Sonia Gandhi, Narander Modi, Mehbooba Mufti, Indian Army and many others have rightly congratulated Tajamul but need to apologize for blinding, maiming, tourchering, killing and Jailing hundreds of Tajamuls. May these Hippocrates answer who and what compelled people like Zakir Rashid and Sabzar Ahmad to choose gun rather being admitted in world’s prestigious institutions”, he asked.

He also presented gift cheques to Tajamul Islam and Hashim for their excellent performance, on behalf of Joint Effort Trust.
