“A group of three to four militants early this morning at around 5:30 AM attacked an Army’s 166 Field Regiment in Nagrota area here with an attempt to enter the camp,” Army sources said.
They said that the terrorists lobbed a grenade to enter the camp and opened fire.

Five Army men were injured in an ensuing encounter while three of them, including a major, were killed, media reports said, adding. “Paramilitary commandos have now joined the operation.”
Schools in Nagrota tehsil of Jammu have been closed today on Tuesday after a gunfight between militants and security forces.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu has ordered the closure of all the schools in the Nagrota tehsil in view of ongoing gun battle.
In a separate encounter, a BSF man was injured and three militants were killed as an “infiltration bid” was foiled on international border in Samba district of Jammu region.
“A group of around 5 to 6 militants fired at the forward BSF posts in Ramgarh sector in a bid to sneak into the Indian territory,” reports quoting police said. “BSF men fired at them, which triggered an encounter in which one BSF man identified as Sanjay Kumar got injured and he has been rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu.”
The militants had holed up in a tubewell but BSF fired heavily on them thus killing three of them and pushing back the remaining, reports said.
The reports added that three militants were neutralized by the troops while infiltration bid was foiled successfully.
“While the encounter is over, a search operation was in progress as possibility of hiding of more militants cannot be ruled out,” reports quoted police officials.
