Tehreek-e-Hurriyat-e-Kashmir has condemned the arrest and subsequent booking of its three members under PSA. It has also strongly reacted to the torture of detained youth in the SOG camp in Kreeri, a statement issued here said.
The separatist party identified the three detained activists as Danish Malik, Farooq Ahmad Sheikh and Tahir Ahmad. Malik is heading its Bandipore unit
“There is no reason for Malik’s arrest and booking under Public Safet Act,” the spokesman said. “He has nothing against him excepting that he wants the solution of Kashmir for the sustainable peace of the region.”
Meanwhile Dukhtaran e Millat has decried the decision against permitting Dr Muhammad Qasim a telephonic conversation with his family. The court had rejected the petition of the detained separatist seeking permission to talk to his family on phone. Qasim is in jail for nearly two decades now.
“Dr Qasim’s wife Syedah Aasiya Andrabi, has been jailed because of her political ideology and has been detained under draconian lawless law Public safety Act at sub-Jail Baramulla,” a spokesperson of the Dukhteran said. “Dr Qasim has not spoken to her since and is worried about her wellbeing.” The spokesperson said she is being held in Baramulla even though there is ample space in Srinagar central jail. Qasim is in central jail Srinagar.
The spokesperson said Aasiyah is an asthma patient who has to use CPAP machine for sleep apnea. Besides, she is suffering from orthopaedic problems.
