Nursing Council of India (NCI) has approved establishing of two Nursing colleges under the patronage of J&K Muslim Wakaf Board at Chrar-e-Sharief and Awantipora, Vice-Chairman of the Board, Peer Mohammad Hussain said.
He said that it was the mission of late Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, to establish Nursing Colleges in every district of the State to augment the healthcare infrastructure.
The Vice-Chairman added that in the first phase, besides establishing Alamdar College for Nursing and Medical Technology and Syed Mantaqi MemorialCollege for Nursing and Medical Technology at Chrar-e-Sharief and Awantipora, new Nursing Colleges will be established in Rajouri and Kishtwar districts in collaboration with Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, an official spokesperson said this evening.
He said that initially BSc and Nursing courses will be taught in these colleges while as in coming years various Para Medical courses will be introduced under Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora.
On the occasion, the Vice-chairman thanked, Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti for taking personal interest in pursuing the approval of start of academic calendar in these colleges with the Union Government.
