Minor injured in a road accident; Youth attempts suicide in Kupwara

A minor boy was injured after he was hit by a vehicle in Handwara.

Police said that an Eon vehicle hit and injured a minor boy Loqman Parvaiz resident of Darpora at General road near Darpora in the jurisdiction of Police Station Lalpora, Handwara. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Sogam for treatment. Handwara police has registered a case in this regard.

In another incident, a youth consumed some poisonous substance at his home in Kupwara, in an attempt to end his life.

A 21 years old youth namely Mohammad Ramzan Chopan resident of Chopan Mohalla consumed some poisonous substance at his home in the jurisdiction of Police Station Trehgam. He was shifted to PHC Trehgam for treatment where from he was shifted to District Hospital Kupwara for further treatment. Kupwara police has registered a case in this regard.

Meanwhile, 3 structures including a Mosque was damaged in separate fire incidents across the valley

Fire broke out in the double storied residential house of Abdul Aziz Naikoo resident of Khudhaman in the jurisdiction of Police Station  Dooru Islamabad, resulting in damage to the house. Fire was brought under control by fire tenders.

In another incident, fire broke out in a Mosque at Bonie Putter Watlar in the jurisdiction of Police Station Lar Ganderbal, resulting in damage to the Mosque. Fire was brought under control by fire tenders.

Meanwhile, fire broke out in a joint residential house of Bilal Ahmad Wagay, Jahangir Ahmad Wagay, Mohammad Abass Wagay and Javaid Ahmad Wagay residents of Behibagh in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kulgam, resulting in damage to the house. Fire was brought under control by fire tenders.

However, no loss of life or injury was reported in these incidents.
