Goons thrash a Kashmiri student in Chandigarh, hospitalized

A Kashmiri student was Friday thrashed by a group of goons in Chandigarh Punjab.

Reports said that Haris Shakeel Khan son of Shakeel Ahmad Khan, a resident of Kadipora Islamabad was going to appear in exams when the goons thrashed him.

Haris studies B.Tech in DOABA group of colleges at Kharar in Chandigarh.

Haris has sustained injuries in head and backbone in the ruthless incident.

Haris told a local newspaper that he was going towards examination centre where he had to appear in Environmental Engineering paper of B. Tech 5th semester.

“About 15 to 20 students started thrashing me without saying a single word. I received many injuries due to which I missed by examination,” Haris told the newspaper.

“They knocked me down and started punching on my face, head, stomach and backbone. My only mistake is that I am a Kashmiri,” he said.

Haris was later taken to a civil hospital Kharar for treatment where from he was referred to Govt hospital Chandigarh for further treatment.
