Police destroying the Charas cultivation in south Kashmir. File photo
A team of Police Station Zainapora led by Dy SP Imam Sahab raided four houses in village Malhura in presence of a magistrate and recovered 31 Kgs of Charas and 4 Kgs of Fuki during the search operation.
Those arrested have been identified as Suhail Ahmad sheikh, Aijaz Ahmad Malik, Ghulam Rasool Malik, all residents of village Malhura.
Case under FIR No. 82, 83 & 84/2016 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act and FIR No. 85/2016 u/s 15 NDPS Act have been registered against three.
Meanwhile, Police in Shopian arrested two notorious timber smugglers who were evading arrests for a long time and booked them under PSA.
The duo has been identified as Baboo Khan of Karewa Zawoora and Gowhar Parray of Chowan Keller. Both have been shifted to Kot Balwal jail.
