Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, former National Conference worker who was in news a couple of years ago after the death of another NC worker Syed Yousuf in police custody Wednesday joined Congress.
Bhat hails from the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s constituency, Ganderbal.
Bhat had alleged NC top brass of receiving huge sums through Syed Yousuf against legislative council births. Syed Yousuf was arrested from the residence of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah resulting in allegations even against him.
Syed Yousuf’s death case was later probed by the state government which gave Chief Minister clean chit.
According to a statement Congress state president Prof Saifuddin Soz has admitted Mohammad Yousuf Bhat of Gandebal into the party.
