43-Year-Old Dies Due To Chest Pain; Family Accuses Doctors Of Negligence

Police Wednesday registered a case against the alleged negligence of doctors due to which a 43-year-old patient died at North Kashmir’s Kupwara hospital.


According to the KNS correspondent, father of four children Ghulam Mohammad Lone earlier complained of the chest pain and was admitted at Kupwara hospital wherein a medico advised a chest tube. A day after, Lone died, making his family to protest against the doctors of the hospital. The family alleged that due to the negligence on part of the doctors, Lone died and that he would have been saved, had a proper procedure been adopted.


Later police swung into action and started investigations. Reports informed that Lone’s body was exhumed from his grave for post mortem and FIR271/2014 has been registered under section 304(a).


After the post mortem, the brother of Ghulam Mohammad Lone, Fayaz Ahmad told KNS that the family would continue to protest if the doctors who displayed carelessness during the treatment of his brother.


When contacted, SSP Kupwara told KNS that a team has been constituted by the police so that investigation of the matter and that further action will be taken once the post mortem report is received.
