Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad, Tasaduq Jeelani, Wednesday chaired a meeting of all the District heads of different Insurance Companies functional in the District and reviewed the post flood insurance claims /settlement issues in presence of representatives of various trade and civil society organisations.
According to spokesman, it was given out in the meeting that 675 insurance claims pertaining to District Islamabad have been settled till now by different insurance companies amounting Rs.10.23cr. It was said that New India insurance has settled 250 claims out of 253, oriental Insurance has settled 77 claims out of 133, National Insurance has settled 232 claims out of 259 while as United India Insurance has settled 116 claims out of the 132 claims.
Deputy Commissioner stressed upon all the Insurance Companies to settle the Insurance claims of all the concerned without any delay so that the affected people can rebuild their business establishments and houses before coming winters. He also stressed for minimising the time period and unnecessary documentation required for settlement of the claims. He assured the traders and other concerned that they will be provided with every possible help so that they can face the challenges of coming winters in a better way. Deputy Commissioner directed all the concerned officers to work in close co-ordination so that the distribution of relief and rehabilitation process is completed in a free fair and transparent manner.
