Two involved in robbing a shop in Tangmarg held; Stolen property recovered

Srinagar: Baramulla Police have arrested two robbers and recovered stolen property on their instance, a police statement said on Thursday.

Ghulam Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Ahad Bhat of Gogaldara Tangmarg, filed a complaint that his Kirana shop was looted by unknown burglars on Sunday night. On this information a case FIR number  08/2017 under section 457. 380. RPC was registered in Police station Tangmarg. Subsequently an investigating team head by incharge SHO police station Tangmarg under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg was constituted and investigation was taken up.

Jailed

The investigating team succeeded in nabbing two suspects who confessed the crime. They were identified as Mehraj-u-din Khan son of Abdul Majeed Khan of Nowgam Khag, Budgam and Mohammad Saleem Wani son of Ghulam Rasool Wani of Achabal, Anantnag. These robbers were using a hired ambulance of the health department to carry out their criminal activities.

The stolen property worth lacs has been recovered from their possession. Further investigation into the case is going on.
