Vigilance arrests two PHE engineers

SRINAGAR: Two engineers of public health engineering department were arrested by the Vigilance Organisation Kashmir (VOK) for corruption.

The arrested officials were identified as Rakesh Kumar (AEE) and Syed Ajaz Hussain (JE) of PHE (M&P) Sub-Division 1st Zainkote Srinagar. A case under FIR No. 41/2014 have registered against them.

The statement issued to PTK said that the case stands registered against them under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act for misappropriation of 66.215 Metric Tons of Mild Steel Pipes amounting to Rs 34.39 lakhs under a conspired plan.
