Srinagar
Lashing out at PDP leader and minister for Public Works, Naeem Akhtar, Principal opposition Party National Conference General Secretary and senior legislator, Ali Muhammad Sagar Sunday said that Akhtar, who is also a government spokesperson, is actually suffering from dementia.
“He (Akhtar) doesn’t know the iota of politics and on the top of it he is suffering from dementia. I would like to remind that Farooq Abdullah resigned in 1990s when Jagmohan engineered massacre over massacres in Kashmir. Jagmohan was sent to Kashmir as a governor by PDP founder Mufti Mohammad Sayed, who was then the home minister of India,” said Sagar while talking to local news agency.
He said massacres in Kashmir were engineered by Mufti through his man Jagmohan, which forced the Farooq Abdullah to resign as he (Farooq) had no other option. “Farooq Abdullah never craved for power,” Sagar added.
Sagar said the National Conference leaders have never criticized Mufti Mohammad Sayed, but these PDP leaders have time and again levelled allegations against Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
“May I remind Naeem Akhtar and PDP that Sheikh Sahab was the tallest leader of J&K. He was a stalwart and if J&K has any identity, it is because of Sheikh Abdullah,” said the NC leader.
Blaming PDP for destroying the identity of the Kashmiriyat, Sagar said PDP sold Kashmir to BJP for petty gains. “The PDP’s handshake with BJP has pushed the Kashmiri youth to again join the militancy.
“Militancy is reviving especially in south Kashmir, as the youth of the area have been left nowhere by this PDP government. PDP has entered BJP into the houses of south Kashmir. Youth are being forced towards militancy. In 1990s it was because of the policies of Mufti Sayed that youth took to gun and now again it is PDP which revives militancy in Kashmir due to its anti-youth policies,” he said.
Sagar, who is also a former minister, said the report of Home Ministry carried by various media outlets that states about revival of SoG, controlling media and religious clerks is the last nail in the coffin which will further push youth towards 1990s like militancy, and PDP is a part of this policy. “Had PDP not been part of this new Home Ministry report/proposal, then it would not have maintained criminal silence over the grave issue. The PDP led government should speak up over the serious matter,” he added.
