JKTDC orders promotion of 27 employees, 36 adjusted

The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) has granted In-Situ promotion to 27 employees of various categories placing them in higher grades. Meanwhile, 36 helpers having completed more than 11 years of service regularised have been adjusted against Class-IV vacancies.

JKTDC management also sanctioned Rs 1.60 crore in favour of 50 retired employees as gratuity arrears while an amount of Rs 60 lakh was released to retirees as arrears of 6th pay commission. Corporation also deposited Rs 30 lakhs to Sales Tax department under the amnesty scheme enabling a saving of Rs 2.10 Cr for JKTDC. A screening committee of JKTDC has also submitted 174 cases to Government for regularisation of helpers. In order to settle the outstanding dues of retired employees an amount of Rs 10 lakh is being released every month.

These decisions were taken at a meeting of the senior executives of the Corporation chaired by Managing Director, JKTDC, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary. Director Finance, General Manager Administration, General Manager Operations, Company Secretary and other senior officers of JKTDC management were present in the meeting.

Those accorded promotions include 2 Pantrymen, 1 each orderly, Floor Supervisor, Asstt Cook, Sweeper, Chowkidar and 31 helpers while those regularised employees adjusted against 36 vacancies of Class IV are from 6 different professional categories of the corporation.

The Managing Director JKTDC approved the cases as a part of the initiative of the corporation for better human resource management and providing incentives to lower staff for encouraging them to work better for corporation as well as providing better services to tourists.

MD JKTDC also informed that the corporation management is initiating a number of welfare schemes for the staff and their families especially children to associate the employees in a better way, which include insurance scheme, educational assistance scheme, health care and other measures. Meanwhile a proposal is being submitted to Tourism Department, J&K Government of filling the vacancies. An amount of Rs 3.20 Cr is being provided for clearance of CP fund liabilities of employees by March 2017.

The MD JKTDC said that the Secretary Tourism, Mr Farooq Ahmed Shah has proactively provided the requisite support to the Corporation including release of funds, processing cases for regularisation of employees, funds for new projects and development as well as management of corporation, it was informed.
