Srinagar: Scores of engineering students enrolled in different polytechnic colleges of Kashmir valley on Thursday staged a protest demonstration against Jammu and Kashmir Technical Board authorities for change in “examination policies”.
The protesting students raised slogans like “we want justice” and “Technical Board Hai Hai”.
The students alleged that the technical Board has abolished the re-evaluation policy which goes against fundamentals of transparency. The change in policy has caused serious anger among students.
The recent history of technical board is tainted with numerous cases of wrong evaluations which drew strong ire from students. Students feel that to save it from embarrassments board has done away with the re-evaluation system.
The students also alleged that the board authorities have now abolished the Bi-annual examination which has angered the students. From now onwards students who have backlog have to wait for a year to clear backlogs.
The enraged students termed the change in policy as anti- student. “The board authorities are playing with the career of students,” a protestor told Kashmir Life.
