Public support imperative to bring peace: DGP

Director General of Police (DGP),  K Rajendra Kumar Tuesday said that the people’s cooperation and public support is imperative to bring peace and order in the society.

He said the coordination between various agencies and collective efforts of agencies and public support is pivotal for maintaining peace and order,

Rajendra, said this while addressing jawans and officers of North Kashmir Range at a police Durbar in District Police Lines Baramulla . He was accompanied by Special DG Coordination, Law and Order, Dr. S. P. Vaid.

He said the safety and security of the people has remained prime concern for Jammu and Kashmir Police and strenuous efforts in coordination with other security agencies, were put in place to thwart the ill designs of elements vitiating peaceful atmosphere of State.

The DGP said that JKP is committed for tangible bonds with the people, and provide them better policing. “Wholehearted cooperation of the people with the forces has helped in maintaining sustained peace and these relations should be strengthened at all levels to defeat ill designs of inimical elements,” said Rajendra.

He asked jawans and officers to utilise their energies efficiently and serve the people to garner their appreciations. “Public is the main stakeholder in our fight against crimes and humane attitude with the people should be our priority, despite hostile situation in the profession,” he told the Jawans.

Stating that drug abuse is posing a great challenge to the law enforcing agencies, DGP stressed upon Police to intensify surveillance against drug abuse so that the youth of the society is saved from this menace. He asked officers to focus on qualitative changes, keeping in mind the advancements on security front.
