“From morning till evening our traders community sees no more than one hour of electricity or even lesser whereas the evenings are totally dark as a result of which business establishments have to shut their shops early,” said Khan who also heads the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Association.

He said the power supply has been deliberately kept worse this season as a part of some deep rooted conspiracy to keep economic activities paralysed.  “While shops and other business establishments remain open apparently, there’s no business due to poor power,” Khan said.

“Our water resourcs are feeding power in New Delhi but the irony is that we are kept in dark and this is something intolerable,” Khan said.

He asked what prevent Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh from getting power as much needed by the Valley.

“We only come across silly argument of the Yes Minister PDD babus that power demand is more than the supply, why cant they make  supply more than the demand?” he asked.

He said through supply of poor power the business community was again being pushed to the wall.
