Accusing incumbent Director JK Board of Technical Education (BOTE)of ruining their careers, the students from different Polytechic colleges Monday said that by amending rules and deciding to abolish holding separate exams for students with backlogs in their semester exams have left students high and dry and they have been facing mental trauma due to anti-student policies pursued by the present Director who according to protesting students was deputed as Director due to political backing.

The protesting students who assembled here in Press Enclave said that the BOTE used to hold separate exams for students with backlogs but the practice has been abandoned now. “The decision of the BOTE has put students under mental stress and as they will lost a complete year. This decision is anti-student aimed at to teach students a lesson who opposed the policies of the BOTE when it tried to impose examinations on them during the current unrest,” they said.

“The present Director is not only rude but also anti-student. He never listens to us and instead tells us to pick up guns when we try to bring our problems into his notice. He is insolent and has political backing that is why despite protesting against him on daily basis he is not being transferred,” the students said adding ever since the present Director has assumed charge, the Polytechinc colleges across Kashmir have lost sheen and have only been pursuing anti-student policies,” they said and demanded that the practice to hold separate exams for backlog students should continue in the interest of the students.
