JKSPDC arbitration case: Law Minister orders inquiry for sloppiness

Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice Abdul Haq today ordered inquiry into the alleged negligence by legal officers in the case of arbitration between Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKPDC) and a private company, a communique informed.

While reviewing the arbitration matters of JKPDC and the subsequent financial implications in a meeting here today, Abdul Haq observed that the negligence and mishandling of the arbitration case by officials may result in substantial loss to the state exchequer.

The Minister asked the Secretary Law to conduct an inquiry into the matter and fix responsibility with respect to the negligence and mishandling of case so that action can be taken against the involved officers.

Abdul Haq made it clear that such careless and casual approach of the officials and law officers shall not be tolerated and stressed that due diligence should be exercised while handling cases of public importance so that the exchequer does not face losses.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Law, Abdul Majeed Bhat, Managing Director,    JKPDC, Dr Shah Faesal besides other senior officials of the department.
