After the gap of 20 Fridays, Mirwaiz South Kashmir, Qazi Ahmed Yasir today delivered Friday sermon at Jamia Masjid, Islamabad.
Qazi Yasir, who is also chairman of Ummat-e-Islami Jammu Kashmir, according to spokesman hailed the steadfastness of people, especially in South Kashmir, for running the month’s long pro-freedom uprising.
“For five months we were not allowed to offer prayers at Jamia Masjid here or in Srinagar, and it only exposes the oppressive regime that is ruling Kashmir by force. Kashmir issue has to be solved and without listening to people of Kashmir it is futile to expect any peace,” he said.
The Mirwaiz in his sermon also expressed concern over the ongoing tension at the Line of Control, saying nearly 70,000 people have lost their lives on LoC and more than 50,000 lost limbs. “The United Nations should monitor the escalating violence on both sides of LoC, where Kashmiris are becoming victims.”
He also urged the government to shift all the political prisoners to Kashmir on humanitarian basis. After the prayers, Mirwaiz led a pro-freedom demo
