Development hampered due to lives lost in last year’s unrest: Mehbooba

Srinagar

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Wednesday said that a “vicious atmosphere was created” in which “Kashmiri children have been given guns in hands instead of pens.”

“We all know that in whole world children are given with pen and book in their hands,  but unfortunately here an atmosphere was created wherein our children have been given gun and stone in hands instead of pen and book,” Mehbooba said during an event in Kulgam district.

She said that a gun costs six lakh rupees while a pen costs only five rupees.

“Many lives were lost in last year’s unrest due to which development was hampered,” she added.
