ATM guard fights back, forces looters to flee

SRINAGAR: A security guard of a J&K Bank ATM successfully repulsed an attempt of loot at Sanat Nagar in Srinagar’s uptown. The incident was reported last night.

The guard identified as Shabir Ahmad Chopan had a fight with the two persons who had come to loot the ATM. They had come in a maruti car and were carrying various tools that are required in disjoining and demolition. In the fight, during dead of the night, the guard managed repulsing the attack but survived with bruises and injuries.

Interestingly, the unknown looters fled after leaving the tools and the silver colour maruti car behind. The police have taken the cognizance of the attack. If arrested, the gang may pave way for information about earlier ATMS that were looted within and outside Srinagar.

Meanwhile reports from soth Kashmir said the Police have recovered a missing ATM machine from Bogam in Qazignd. It was not immediately known wherefrom the ATM was missing and if there have been any arrest.
