Srinagar
Two people died and another three were critically wounded when “Indian forces” opened fire across the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK), Dawn reported.
The casualties took place in Fatehpur village of Nezapir sector in Haveli district, which came under “unprovoked” Indian shelling the report quoting Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chaudhry Kashif Hussain said.
As per the report one shell landed in the house of Shaikh Mushtaq, 65, a retired school teacher, leaving his children Naveed, 32, and daughter Asma, 20, dead on the spot.
According to the report Mushtaq, his wife Naseema Begum, 55, and another son Ansar, 25, were critically injured.
Pertinently, at least five civilians sustained injuries on this side of the LoC last evening during cross LoC firing.
After every cross firing incident on the de-facto border, both India and Pakistan allege each other of violating the ceasefire which is in place since 2003.
