Rajouri administration denies any death in incident, lodges FIR

RAJOURI: Authorities have denied the rumors regarding death of a person in Khwas Tehsil of Rajouri after a scuffle between two groups, an official spokesman said.

The district administration termed the information spread through social networking sites, Facebook and WhatsApp as baseless and mischievous aimed at triggering communal tension in the area for which Police have taken cognizance.

As per a spokesperson, yesterday in wee hours a group of men attacked one Lal Din s/o Gulab Din R/o Gundha, in Keri area while he was moving with bovine along with another person.

Taking cognizance of the incident of assault, an FIR 58/2017 under sections 341/307/ 323/147 RPC was lodged at Police Station Budhal and further investigation taken up.

One alleged assailant has been arrested and search for others is on, the spokesperson added. He said as per preliminary investigation some local dispute could be the reason behind incident which is being investigated.

Meanwhile, the injured Lal Din, who was admitted in GMC Jammu, has been discharged and left for his home along with his kin.

“The senior officers of district administration and police also spoke to the injured and attendant as well as doctors,” the spokesperson said.He said person being projected as dead by some miscreants on social media is normal and sent back to his home village after treatment.

Since the investigation is going on, the authorities have cautioned the miscreants to avoid indulging in misadventures which may invite action as warranted under laws. He added that further action is being taken on the basis of investigation.
