SRINAGAR
Even though the state has requisitioned a few battalions of National Disaster Response Force which is on way from Ferozpore, the State Disaster Response Force is reported active in most of the flood affected areas.
Local news gatherer GNS quoted official spokesman said at Kulgam SDRF Team Kulgam conducted Rescue operation in Nowpora (Kulgam) during intervening night of 3rd-4rth September and evacuated affected people to safer places. The team conducted rescue activities today at Asithal Kulgam and shifted the local population to safe zones. The operation is going on.
In Islamabad, SDRF Team participated in Rescue operation at Nowpora Kulgam on 3rd September. The team today rescued one injured lady from Green Colony Eid Gah and provided first aid to her. They also undertook rescue activities at F M Gali and are on the job to evacuate people to safer places from the flood affected areas.
At Srinagar during intervening night of 3rd-4rth September, the bund adjacent to Bone and Joint Hospital breached resulting in flash-floods in the hospital premises and nearby residential colony. The SDRF team from BN Hqrs Baghat conducted rescue operation shifted the IPD patients from ground floor to upper floors of the hospital. They also evacuated the persons trapped in water to safe places.
Today the SDRF team comprising 100 personnel deputed to Pantha Chowk, rescued and evacuated more than sixty families to safer zones that were trapped under heavy floods. The Rescue team is stationed there to meet any exigency.
SDRF Team deputed to Hamdania Coloney Bemina conducted rescue measures and evacuated various families from the flooded areas to safer places. The team is stationed there to meet any exigencies.
At Ganderbal, SDRF team is stationed at Shadipora (Sumbal) for rescue measures as the bund of river in the area is about to be breached.
One Mountain Rescue Team of SDRF from SDRF Hqrs Srinagar along with MRT rescue equipment has been deputed to Sonamarg for undertaking rescue operations.
At Baramulla SDRF Team which was deputed to Tangmarg on 3rd September for Rescue measures evacuated seven Bakarwals putting up in tents in a Middle School at Tumberhama, after they came under heavy floods. They were shifted to safer zone.
